Job Description Certification Engineer Full time Derby, site-based Why Rolls- Royce? An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Certification Engineer within our Certification team at Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility in Derby. Your role as a Certification Engineer is vital for EOS as it enables the business to ramp-up and achieve Rate 4, and for the wider Services business to maintain fleet health across all operators. It is a fast-paced role and you will work closely with the rest of the certification team as well as the wider EOS and Services business. The Certification team sit at the final gate in the MRO process to deliver certified engines and modules from our facility. The EOS facility is the only wholly owned large civil engine overhaul base in our network. We maintain and overhaul up to 40 different customers engines across multiple different aerospace engine types including but not limited to Trent 1000, 7000, Trent 1000- TEN, Trent 97 and 84. You will be leading the rectification of outstanding issues and co-ordinating cross functional teams to come together on a solution. What you will be doing: You will ensure that all engines and modules released from EOS are compliant to Part 145 regulations and are a fundamental part of releasing engines to service for operators in time to keep their aircrafts flying. You will be responsible for: The certification and configuration of modules and their release to service. Resolving customer queries regarding certification records. Maintaining in-service engine life records and archived records. Responsible for ensuring compliance to EASA Part 145 airworthiness regulations and AS9110 / ISO 9001 requirements. Reporting on status, resolving, and escalating open issues in line with operational deadlines. Working pattern for this role will be a two-shift rotating pattern. In line with business requirements, you may be required to work outside the core times of the two-shift pattern. Previous experience in aviation/aerospace manufacturing sector preferred. Understanding of EASA Part 145 requirements – desirable. Understand quality tools, and product structures preferred. Good attention to detail and a collaborative mindset to deliver plans as part of a cross-functional team. Knowledge of aerospace engine / module build or configuration control systems – desirable. IT competence in MS software, SAP and other digital tools and executive systems desirable.
