Indirects Category Manager
Globally Renowned Organisation | Scotland (Flexible Working)
£50,000 – £75,000 + Bonus + Benefits
This globally renowned organisation is embarking on a significant procurement transformation programme, moving from a largely operational purchasing model to a strategic, category-led procurement function. This transformation is focused on improving governance, strengthening supplier management, and unlocking long-term commercial value across indirect spend.
To support this journey, the organisation is recruiting an Indirects Category Manager to play a key role in designing, embedding, and delivering this new way of working.
The Opportunity
As Indirects Category Manager, you will be at the forefront of the procurement transformation, helping to define category strategies, introduce best-practice processes, and drive cultural change across the business. You will take ownership of a broad indirects portfolio, including Facilities-related spend, but the emphasis of the role is on building capability, influencing stakeholders, and creating sustainable procurement value.
This is a highly visible role with genuine opportunity to shape how procurement operates across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and delivery of category strategies across indirect spend as part of the wider transformation programme.
* Design and implement best-practice procurement and supplier management frameworks, tools, and governance.
* Act as a change agent, partnering with stakeholders to move procurement from transactional to strategic.
* Manage end-to-end sourcing activity, from market analysis and sourcing strategy through to contract award and mobilisation.
* Support the Head of Procurement in embedding a category-led, value-focused procurement operating model.
* Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, risk mitigation, and long-term value.
* Champion continuous improvement and procurement excellence across the indirects portfolio.
Experience & Qualifications
* 3+ years’ experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Management, with demonstrable involvement in change, transformation, or capability building.
* Experience managing indirect spend categories (Facilities exposure helpful but not essential).
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence change.
* Degree-qualified; CIPS qualification preferred.
Why Apply?
* Opportunity to play a foundational role in a major procurement transformation.
* High-visibility position with influence over future procurement strategy and ways of working.
* Broad indirects remit offering long-term development and progression.
* Flexible working and a highly competitive total reward package.
