Accounts Assistant – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract\nLocation: Nottingham (on-site)\nSalary: £28,000 per annum\nHours: Full-time\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established business on a 12-month fixed term contract. Working from their modern Nottingham offices with on-site parking and excellent public transport links, you’ll play a key role supporting a finance function serving around 120 active clients.\n\nAbout the Role\nReporting to the Finance Director, you’ll be responsible for delivering a wide range of transactional finance duties, helping to keep the accounts running smoothly in a busy environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Manage the purchase ledger, processing approximately 150–200 invoices per week\n\n * Maintain the accounts receivable ledger\n\n * Oversee credit control and chase outstanding debt to ensure timely payments\n\n * Process the weekly payroll for around 400 temporary staff\n\n * Accurately process accounts data using Sage 50\n\n * Analyse and report financial data using Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)\n\n * Support ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Finance Director\n\nWhat’s on Offer:\n\n * Competitive salary of £28,000\n\n * Modern office environment with on-site parking\n\n * Bus stop nearby with excellent public transport links\n\n * Friendly, supportive team culture\n\nAbout You:\n\n * Experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role\n\n * Confident managing high invoice volumes across purchase and sales ledgers\n\n * Previous experience handling payroll\n\n * Proficient in Sage 50 and Excel (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables)\n\n * Strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset\n\n * Available to commit to a 12-month fixed term contract\n\nIf you’re looking for your next challenge within a welcoming and collaborative team, we’d love to hear from you.
