A growing manufacturing business in the South West is looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to support the next phase of its growth. This is a key role within the business, working closely with senior leaders to improve financial performance, controls, and reporting.
This is not a purely transactional role – you will play an active part in driving commercial decisions, improving processes, and supporting growth.
Key responsibilities
* Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets
* Take ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reporting
* Deliver weekly and monthly financial performance reporting
* Manage budgeting and track spend across departments
* Provide analysis on profitability, costs, and performance
* Monitor cashflow, working capital, debtors, and creditors
* Improve financial controls and reporting processes
* Support audit, VAT, payroll, and compliance requirements
* Work closely with operations, sales, and procurement teams
* Support ERP / system improvements and reporting accuracy
* Mentor and support junior finance team members
About you
* Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
* Previous experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager
* Strong background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environment
* Confident with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysis
* Strong Excel and financial systems skills (ERP experience preferred)
* Hands-on, detail-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced setting
* Good communicator, able to work with non-finance stakeholders
* Commercially aware and proactive in improving performance
