Title:
Mechanical Fitter
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assemble new pumps for OE and aftermarket orders efficiently, following work instructions and laid down parameters.
* Dismantle and assemble repair/service pumps for OE and aftermarket orders efficiently, following work instructions and laid down parameters.
* Ensure economic manufacturing to the correct quality standard within the assembly department.
* Take responsibility for the quality of your own work, including self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists.
* Assist the Operations Manager with issues that arise within the assembly department.
* Collaborate with other departments to resolve and document issues in line with current procedures in a timely manner.
* Assist in preparing and updating assembly documentation, programs, and tooling.
* Participate in continuous improvement activities to help drive down costs and increase productivity.
* Be available to attend customer sites to carry out service work on behalf of the company if required.
* Support managers in implementing the company's policies and goals.
* Follow health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
* Provide ongoing support and training to peers and apprentices within the assembly department as required.
* Assist in the test area, including hydro, performance, noise, and vibration testing.
* Efficiently set up and strip products off test, following work instructions.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
* Time-served Mechanical Fitter with up to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in heavy manufacturing.
