We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Controller to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Materials Control FLM, you will be required to control, reconcile and destroy all secure materials in accordance with company procedures and policies. You will also be responsible for overseeing, implementing and maintaining systems of supply that provide co-ordinated materials flow between stakeholders. As a confident communicator, you will collaborate with the Supply Chain Team, Procurement, and our Production Teams to ensure smooth operations and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring that all secure substrate waste is organised, counted and recorded with proper authority, and that all secure substrate spoils are removed from each process daily.
2. Carry out continuous monitoring and visual inspection of products and materials throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring variances are identified and reported accordingly.
3. Ensuring that secure substrate (including plates) is destroyed with proper authority and following applicable policies and procedures.
4. To keep complete and concise records in respect of all secure substrate/plates destroyed ensuring it is correct. This includes the use of computer-based tracking systems where applicable, and escalates deviation from policies and procedures upon observation to the Materials Control Manager
5. Assist the Material control WTL with investigations in the course of their duties.
6. Actively support continuous improvement activities within the team.
7. Attend meetings/briefings and materials reviews and provide feedback.
8. Work safely, adhering to safety rules and procedures, using safety equipment when necessary.
Contract type: Permanent
Working hours: Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm - 10pm (alternated weekly).
From 31st August, we will transition to a 24/5 Shift Pattern - consists of 3 crews of 12-hour shifts of either: 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, Monday to Friday rota. Attendance is 40 hours per week on average, including a 30-minute unpaid break plus a 15-minute unpaid break to be taken during the shift
Base location: Debden
Basic Salary: £36, per annum on Double Days, rising to £38, per annum on 24/5 shift pattern. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probation period, this will rise to £39, per annum.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
9. Excellent organisational skills and timekeeping
10. Highly literate and numerate
11. Able to multi-task effectively under pressure and work to deadlines in high pressure situations
12. Able to work on your own initiate and as part of a team
13. Proficient in using Microsoft Office packages
14. Knowledge of SAGE X3 and PARVIS (desirable)
