Internal Sales Executive – LED Lighting

A great opportunity for an early-career sales person - full training provided for the right candidate Are you outgoing, technically minded and keen to build a career in sales?

As a well-established but fast growing and evolving Technology business we have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and motivated customer focused Internal Sales Executive to support our LED Division's growth plans over the coming years.

The Role:
The Internal Sales team plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our sales operations. As a key member of this team, the Sales Executive will assist in managing and growing our footprint within the Electrical Wholesale Channel, supporting the External Sales team, and delivering profitable growth for the LED Lighting sector in line with strategic plans.

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and qualify potential customers through prospecting, direct contact, email campaigns, and online research, focusing on proactive up-selling with selected accounts.
2. Work proactively on increasing customer contact to promote sales growth, targeting focused accounts and new business opportunities (Target list to be agreed and approved by UK Sales Director) whilst maintaining a regular call cadence
3. Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals within these clients, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
4. Act as the primary contact for customer enquiries, providing tailored solutions and building strong relationships by answering sales queries from customers via email or telephone
5. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and pipeline in Sugar CRM, ensuring all calls are logged
6. Use the Integral LED Portal and future quotation platforms effectively
7. Analyse customer feedback and sales data to identify trends and improvement areas
8. Provide regular updates on sales metrics and forecasts
9. Work closely with regional Key Account Managers to align strategies and achieve targets
10. Support customer visits with External Sales team to demonstrate products and enhance visibility
11. Maintain a high level of technical knowledge of LED products and electrical industry trends, staying updated on product information, competitor offers, and market developments
12. From time to time, attend trade shows to network and identify new business opportunities
Skills Required:
13. Minimum 2 years' experience in a customer service or internal sales role
14. Knowledge of LED lighting and electrical wholesale industry beneficial, with an eagerness to learn about our products, the technical concepts behind them, and an affinity for taking on board complex technical data
15. A strong sales profile, with account management and relationship building skills
16. Strong communication and time management skills
17. High degree of IT literacy, ideally with CRM proficiency
18. Technical awareness of lighting and electrical industry
19. Electrical wholesale experience is advantageous
20. Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
21. Critical thinking and organisational skills to handle a variety of situations
22. Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively
23. Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability
