28.8 hours per week (to be worked within Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pm)
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self‑motivated person wishing to develop skills working within the Speech and Language Therapy team, providing a service to adults with communication disorders mainly due to stroke. You will join a friendly and dynamic team of 14 Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, working with adults in the North Highland Area. The SLTs work within a multi‑disciplinary team based in the Stroke Unit and the Neuro‑rehabilitation unit at Raigmore Hospital. The post will be based at Raigmore Hospital but there may also be out‑patient sessions at Raigmore and community sessions across other locations in Inverness and the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out routine therapy with patients under SLT guidance
* Producing resources
* Maintaining, updating and cleaning resources and equipment
* Liaising and working jointly with other members of the multi‑disciplinary team
* Organising Telehealth appointments and use of Near Me
Qualifications
This post requires experience or evidence of a special interest in stroke and communication, an SVQ 3 in an appropriate subject or evidence of an equivalent level of knowledge. Good communication and organisational skills, good IT skills (e.g. working with iPads, producing resources, use of Microsoft PowerPoint and Word). Ideally you should hold a driving licence.
Additional Information
* Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be adjusted on a pro‑rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
