North London NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint a doctor to fill the following one post within the Haringey Division in General Adult Psychiatry. The successful candidates would be working as a Specialty Doctor in the Crisis Team / Home Treatment Team.
Main duties of the job
This is substantive post which has become available due to the resignation of the previous post holder. An induction will be provided to your placement explaining roles and responsibilities as well as your workplace. A Trust induction will also be provided after starting in your allocated post.The successful applicant(s) will work within their allocated post. The post will offer the opportunity to perform clinical assessments of individuals with mental health conditions, including mental state examination, history taking, physical health examination and attendance of meetings with the multidisciplinary team.The post holder will gain experience with the full spectrum of psychiatric morbidity. This post is based in a multidisciplinary setting and the post holder will work closely with all the members of the team (doctors, nurses, health care assistances, psychologists, social workers & graduate mental health workers). The care delivered is recovery-focused, placing emphasis on individuals' strengths and goals for the future.

* To join and document morning meetings, ward / community reviews2. Perform clinical assessments of individuals with mental health problems admitted to the ward to assess suitable for supported discharge3. Develop knowledge of mental health, including formulation of care plans4. To perform physical health checks (bloods, ECGs and physical examinations) and liaise with general hospital/GP colleagues to maintain patient physical health.5. Develop psychiatric interview and risk assessment skills6. To be flexible and accessible in providing appropriate care to the patients.7. To work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.8. To comply with the trust values, policies, and procedures.9. To participate in quality improvement work (e.g. audit, service development, etc.).

* Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise from the GMC.
* 2 years of medical experience plus 2 years of psychiatry experience

* Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists UK or equivalent
