Arnfield Care Ltd, a provider of high-quality therapeutic residential care and on-site education for children and young people based in the High Peak, Derbyshire (SK13) seeks a talented, enthusiastic and flexible part-time or freelance social media specialist to help us strengthen our visibility, reinforce our reputation with placing authorities, and elevate our employer value proposition across key platforms (potential for hybrid working).
Job Opportunity
Arnfield Care Ltd is an outstanding, independent provider of therapeutic residential care and on‑site education for children and young people aged 11–17. For nearly 30 years, we’ve helped young people rebuild trust, develop independence and move forward with confidence. With almost 100 staff across our Homes and Independent School, we’re also one of the High Peak’s largest and most values‑driven employers.
What We Need:
A social media native. Someone who loves words. A partner who can bring consistency, creativity and authenticity to our online presence by:
* Developing quarterly plans and monthly content calendars.
* Creating graphics, copy and short‑form video aligned with our values.
* Scheduling and publishing 3–5 posts per week across Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn (and potentially TikTok/YouTube).
* Generating content for website updates and blogs then repurposing that content for other online platforms.
* Responding to comments, messages and mentions with professionalism and empathy.
* Monitoring trends, hashtags and sector conversations, contributing to them where appropriate, with warmth and professionalism.
* Providing concise monthly performance reports.
* Supporting urgent updates or crisis communications when required.
How We Work:
Based at our head office in Glossop (SK13), you’ll collaborate with a dedicated internal contact plus named leads across our five service areas: Arnfield Tower, Greenfield House, Moorfield Barn, Arnfield Independent School and Outdoor Education. They’ll act as your eyes, ears and approval channels as all published content must meet strict safeguarding, compliance and accessibility standards. You’ll be willing to learn about what and how we do things, and the specific characteristics inherent to our sector.
We value real‑photo authenticity, and inclusive, accessible communication as well as innovative thinking, dynamism and flexibility. We’re not chasing customers - we’re reinforcing trust, credibility and visibility with the people who matter. Words are the foundation of history, so we’ll expect you to use them wisely.
What Success Looks Like:
* Stronger engagement and follower growth.
* Regularly updated web content (new site under development).
* Positive sentiment from social workers, placing authorities and sector bodies.
* Increased recruitment enquiries and improved understanding of our employer proposition.
* Smooth, proactive account management and efficient use of internal time.

* Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme, available 24/7/365.
* Ongoing fully-funded training.
* And for employed rather than freelance staff, there’s a company pension and 28 days’ paid holiday too.
