Your new role
Experienced Quarry Manager required to oversee operations at one of their Norfolk sites. This role involves managing daily activities to ensure maximum productivity, minimal downtime, and consistent product quality, while maintainingpliance with environmental and health & safety legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage day-to-day quarry operations, ensuring efficiency andpliance
2. Prepare risk assessments and method statements, ensuring staff are trained accordingly
3. Organise staff schedules and holidays to maintain adequate labour levels
4. Liaise with site staff and management to ensure tasks arepleted to a high standard
5. Maintain accurate staff timesheets and provide updates to the Area Manager
6. Conduct site inductions for new employees and ensure PPE/equipment is issued
7. Deliver regular training sessions, including toolbox talks
8. Build strong working relationships with transport, materials, management teams, landowners, and neighbours
9. Oversee plant maintenance and ensure operatorsplete required checks
10. Investigate accidents/incidents in collaboration with the Health & Safety Manager
What you'll need to succeed
11. Proven experience managing a quarry, landfill, or similar operation
12. Strongmunication and problem-solving skills
13. Methodical, flexible, and proactive approach to tasks
14. Proficiency in MS Office
15. Effective scheduling and organisational skills
16. Strong leadership and project management abilities
17. In-depth knowledge of health & safety legislation
