Maintenance Engineer | £40k - £45k DOE Cambridgeshire Double Day Shift (Mon–Fri: 6:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00) Includes participation in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support About the Company A highly advanced technology and manufacturing business developing innovative industrial systems used across a range of global applications. The organisation operates within a high-tech production environment, combining precision engineering, automation and advanced manufacturing technologies. The Role This is a hands-on engineering role supporting the reliability and optimisation of production equipment and facility systems within a complex manufacturing environment. The position involves both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production tools and site infrastructure. You will be maintaining and supporting systems including: • Pick & place robotics • CNC tools • Vacuum systems • Laser systems • Plating lines • Semiconductor systems • Chemical & gas systems • LEV systems • Nitrogen and compressed air systems • DI water systems • Vacuum systems • HVAC systems Key Responsibilities • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and facilities systems • Carry out preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with maintenance schedules • Respond to production downtime events, identifying root causes using structured problem-solving methodologies • Record and document maintenance activity for traceability and knowledge capture • Use maintenance data to identify reliability improvements and trends • Support spare parts management with engineering and purchasing teams • Collaborate across departments to support wider business improvement projects • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including RAMS documentation • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota About You Qualifications (Must Have) • Minimum BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical) Experience & Knowledge • Positive outlook with a strong drive to understand and improve machines and systems • Demonstrable experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies • Experience maintaining and optimising automation systems • Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems • Experience working to preventative maintenance schedules • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance metrics • Experience creating technical documentation and supporting change management • Strong computer literacy (Outlook, Excel, Teams) Desirable • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) • Experience with programming or vision system optimisation • Exposure to optical, laser or wire bonding systems • Familiarity with HVAC and site services maintenance • Experience supporting robotic systems and automated tool optimisation Skills & Behaviours • Strong time management and prioritisation • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a production environment • High attention to detail and accuracy • Collaborative approach when working with cross-functional teams • Clear and effective communication • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
