We’re actively looking for experienced Project Manager’s to lead complex nuclear decommissioning and new build works.

Responsibilities
* Identifying, implementing and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality, company procedures, policies, legislative, regulatory, requirements.
* Developing, maintaining, reporting and trending an accurate project baseline.
* Maximising within the project the use of Learning from Experience and disseminating new
* LFE to the relevant functions.
* Implementing and maintaining the project and supporting functions interfaces and shared services.
* Leading, coaching and supporting the delivery team to ensure that the Project Delivery Fundamentals and required company practices are implemented and complied with.
* Assigning and maintaining competent project team members and acting promptly to industrial relations and HR issues.
* Providing accurate and timely information and reports regarding the project status, activities and performance.
* Identifying risks and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
* Implementing and maintaining effective integrated project execution strategies and plans.
* Implementing and maintaining effective communication to the project team and stakeholders.
* Meeting the specified project functional criteria.
* Controlling scope and cost to the agreed project baseline.
Accountabilities
* Delivering the project in a safe manner to the specified functional criteria, goals and objectives, compliant with appropriate legislation, Project Execution Procedures and within the approved project baseline, scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements.
* Applying an appropriate level of priority for safety and quality to ensure that Nuclear Safety is not compromised by delivery.
* Implementing and maintaining a competent, effective and efficient Integrated Project Team.
* Minimising the project risks (threats) and maximising opportunities.
* Maximising the project efficiency and effectiveness.
* Early identification of issues, concerns that either have the potential or will impact the project baseline and sanction.
* Proposing, agreeing, implementing and reporting corrective actions to secure the project baseline.
* To perform the client duty holder role, where appropriate, on behalf of Sellafield Ltd for all tasks & projects defined as construction within the Construction (Design & Management) regulations, (not applicable for PPP).
* To the Head of Projects with support from Project Management Function as required, to ensure that the Project Delivery Fundamentals are embedded and complied with in their projects.
* To the Head of Projects with support from the Project Management Functions as required, to identify any shortfalls in the use of the Project Management Fundamentals and to ensure that appropriate mitigation and improvement plans are develop and agreed with the HoP.
* To the Head of Projects and the SPA for ensuring compliance with Sanction limits.
* To the Head of Projects and the Project Management Function to apply procedures proportionately relating to project complexity.
* To Heads of Functions for disseminating relevant LFE.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
* APM ChPP
* Degree level qualification (2:1 minimum) in a relevant STEM subject
* Member of APM or PMI
Experience:
* Typically 5 years experience where knowledge of engineering was a key attribute.
* Worked within a highly regulated and quality assured system where design, construction and engineering judgement was a major part of the role.
* Expertise demonstrable in one or more specific specialist areas relevant to the engineering discipline with a track record of successful application of specialist knowledge or skills.
* Ability to provide leadership in a key area within an engineering function and act as a custodian of resource and expertise.
* Engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including positions influencing professional engineers in the definition, implementation and delivery of engineering work packages.
* Ability to provide strategic guidance based on knowledge and experience of projects across a portfolio to inform and direct projects and programmes."
