Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children's Support Worker to join our client's team in Harrogate. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people, helping them to develop life skills, confidence, and independence. This role involves working closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and development of each child.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
* Provide emotional and social support to children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
* Assist with daily routines, including meal times, homework, and recreational activities.
* Monitor and report on the progress and well-being of children, maintaining accurate records.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, and healthcare providers.
* Facilitate educational and recreational activities that promote development and well-being.
* Support children in developing life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and self-care.
* Advocate for the rights and needs of children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
* Manage challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism, using appropriate intervention strategies.
* Engage with families and caregivers, providing guidance and support to strengthen family relationships.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in childcare and support.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a similar role working with children and young people.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children.
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
