Principal Geotechnical / Geo-environmental Engineer

Qualifications
* Geology degree and Chartered status (Geological Society, ICE or similar) with several years of related experience.
* Significant UK consultancy experience in geo‑environmental engineering / contaminated land.
* Strong technical knowledge of UK contaminated land legislation and guidance.
* Experience managing multiple projects and teams.
* Commercially aware with strong client‑facing skills.
* Excellent report writing and communication skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage geo‑environmental and contaminated land projects from inception to completion.
* Design, procure and supervise site investigations and remediation works.
* Interpret factual and interpretative site investigation data.
* Prepare and review Phase 1 and Phase 2 reports, remediation strategies and verification reports.
* Undertake and review generic and detailed quantitative risk assessments.
* Carry out site visits as required.
* Manage project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
* Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across the team.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
* Support business development, bids and tenders.
* Mentor and develop junior engineers and graduates.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
