Key Responsibilities of the Credit Controller Minimise bad debt exposure through proactive and diligent follow up, consistently meeting or exceeding agreed debtor day targets. Manage a large and varied portfolio of debtor accounts, ensuring timely, accurate and efficient collection of outstanding payments. Monitor account activity daily, promptly identifying and addressing overdue balances, disputes or anomalies. Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal departments and external customers to facilitate effective communication and quick issue resolution. Investigate and resolve payment queries and discrepancies, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain cash flow. Escalate high risk or problematic accounts promptly. Maintain accurate and up to date customer account records, ensuring compliance with data protection and company procedures. Continuously seek process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce debtor days and strengthen credit control practices. Skills / Experience required for the Credit Controller role: Proven track record in Credit Control, previous experience is essential. IT literate, confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. Exceptional communication skills, ability to engage effectively with colleagues and clients. Highly organised and detail focused. Confident, can do attitude.
