English and EAL Teaching Assistant (Temporary to Permanent) – Location: Chorley, Lancashire. Start Date: February. Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English and EAL Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school in Chorley from February on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students’ language development and academic progress in a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with English and EAL teachers to support students who are learning English as an additional language, as well as those needing extra help with their English skills.
* Provide in-class assistance, help develop targeted learning resources, and support small group or one-to-one sessions tailored to individual student needs.
* Foster students’ confidence, improve their communication skills, and promote a positive attitude towards learning to ensure all students can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting, particularly supporting EAL learners or English language development.
* Strong communication skills, patience, and a flexible, proactive approach.
