Robert Half are recruiting for an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to join a well-established organisation based in West Wiltshire. This is a hands-on interim assignment, working 37.5 hours per week, supporting a large and complex payroll function.

The role
You will take full responsibility for the accurate and timely delivery of monthly payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strong stakeholder communication throughout.
Key responsibilities
6. Process and validate monthly payroll for 1,000+ employees across multiple contract types
7. Identify, review, and validate payroll output reports with extensive data checking to ensure accuracy
8. Manage all aspects of the company pension scheme, including auto-enrolment and maintaining up-to-date scheme information
9. Liaise with actuaries, Pension Scheme Trustees, and third-party stakeholders
10. Keep up to date with legislative changes and new payroll initiatives
11. Maintain and enhance payroll reporting, including overtime analysis and payroll reconciliations
About you
12. Proven experience managing payroll in a large, complex environment
13. Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pensions
14. Highly detail-oriented with a rigorous approach to data validation
15. Confident liaising with senior stakeholders and external parties
16. Able to work onsite 4 days per week
