Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (New Set-Up)
Location: Sutton, South London
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 base (dependent on experience), rising to £60,000 + £5,000 bonus upon successful Ofsted registration and home opening.

About Us
We are a new and ambitious children's care provider establishing our first residential children's home in Sutton, South London. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children and young people to thrive.
As this is a new home set-up, we are looking for an experienced Registered Manager who is ready to take ownership of shaping the service from the ground up. You will be fully supported by the Responsible Individual and the wider leadership team, but this is a unique opportunity to build and lead a new home, recruit and develop your own team, and set the culture from day one.
The Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Leading the registration and set-up process of the home, ensuring compliance with all Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
* Overseeing the preparation for and management of Ofsted inspections, ensuring readiness and high standards at all times.
* Recruiting, training, and leading a motivated team who share your commitment to child-centred care.
* Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and care practices that reflect safeguarding-first approaches.
* Designing and overseeing individual care plans to meet the needs of children.
* Ensuring all safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory requirements are met.
* Managing budgets, resources, and staffing effectively.
* Building strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, and external professionals.
* Creating a positive home culture that promotes stability, consistency, and opportunity for young people.
About You
We are seeking a Registered Manager who is not only qualified and experienced, but also motivated by the opportunity to build something new.
* Minimum 3 years' experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully leading a home through at least 2.5 Ofsted inspections (2 full and 1 interim minimum).
* Hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
* Strong knowledge of legislation, Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and child protection.
* Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to recruit, inspire and retain staff.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
Desirable:
* Experience of opening or re-registering a new children's home.
* Strong links with local authorities and commissioning teams.
* Ambition to progress and open further homes as the organisation grows.

* £45,000 - £55,000 base salary.
