Despatch Team Leader £28000 - £30000pa
Hours: Monday to Thursday only (7:00 – 17:00)
Key Responsibilities
As Despatch Team Leader, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and high-quality operation of the despatch department, including overseeing machinery, packing, logistics, and client communication.
* Oversee day-to-day running of the Despatch Department, ensuring efficiency and quality.
* Apply and monitor quality control standards, updating SOPs where required.
* Prepare and process Kanban orders, invoices, and customer orders accurately.
* Manage export and import logistics, liaising with third-party suppliers to meet deadlines.
* Organise and oversee preparation of pallets and boxes for despatch.
* Raise purchase orders and manage packaging requirements.
* Provide training, guidance, and support to team members to develop skills and improve output.
* Ensure minimal material wastage, accurately recording scrappage.
* Lead, organise, and monitor team workloads, ensuring targets and standards are met.
* Contribute to continuous improvement through problem-solving and 8D investigations.
* Liaise with the Production Manager on staff performance and operational updates.
* Maintain stock control of finished goods, raw materials, and internal stock movements.
* Liaise with customers and the Quality Engineer to ensure high service and product standards.
* Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
* Take ownership for identifying and addressing poor practices within the team.
* Participate in meetings, training, and personal development to meet role requirements.
* Undertake additional reasonable duties (e.g., deliveries, paperwork, machine setup) as required.
