The Role
They are seeking a motivated Planning Policy Officer to join their planning policy team. You'll play a central role in preparing, reviewing, and delivering key planning documents - including the Local Plan - and ensuring that development supports the area's long-term vision. This is a varied role that combines research, policy writing, and stakeholder engagement, with the chance to influence the future of Bedford's communities and environment.
What You'll Need
* A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in planning policy within a local authority setting.
* Good knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation.
* Strong analytical, research, and report-writing skills.
* Confidence in communicating with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public.
* Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
* RTPI membership (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
