The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is looking for an enthusiastic caring person who is passionate about patient care to join our team in the Radiology department at the Community Diagnostics Centre in Telford.
This post is varied and interesting with a rotation into different areas such as X‑ray, MRI, CT and ultrasound scanning as well as working closely with the general team and liaising with other departments.
The community Diagnostics Centre currently operates an 8 hour service 7 days per week. The duties are 8 hours long (with a 30 minute break). There is some flexibility in the rostering of these as rostered days off and specific shifts can be requested in advance via the e‑Roster (roster released 6 weeks in advance). Swapping of duties with colleagues once the roster has been released is also available.
Responsibility & Duties
* Care for patients, carers, visitors, and relatives during their visit to the Department.
* Act as chaperone in line with Trust policy.
* Help with the movement of patients in the examination rooms.
* Use the Radiology information system (CRIS) to record the patient's Radiology episode.
* Comply with the Trusts policies.
* Maintain associated records, both paper and electronic.
* Ensure equipment is used correctly and any faults or concerns are reported to senior staff.
* Liaise with a wide range of staff caring for the patient— including medical staff, ward staff, staff from other departments.
* Assist with audit projects as required.
* Dispose of any clinical sharps bins and clinical waste to the appropriate areas in line with trust policy.
* Be responsible for complying with Health & Safety policy, agreed policies and procedures of the Radiology Department, the local rules under IRMER (ionising radiation law) and the agreed policies and procedures of the Trust.
* Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the whole of the Radiology Department.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Work as part of a team.

Qualifications & Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to participate in the 7 Day Working roster and be able to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team. They must have good communication skills, be computer literate and be able to cope with an ever changing workload in order to be reactive to our patients complex needs.
