I’ve partnered with market leader in home fragrances, looking for a H&S manager to lead HSE across their Cumbrian HQ, taking in a range of manufacturing and production techniques. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust health, safety, and environmental (HSE) systems across the organisation, whilst fostering a proactive safety culture that minimizes risk and promotes employee well-being. Key Responsibilities include: • Leading the development and implementation of the organisation’s health and safety strategy, policies, and procedures • Acting as the subject matter expert for HSE matters, advising senior management on compliance, risks, and improvements • Promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement • Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and standards • Conducting audits and inspections across sites to identify, control and monitor • Managing accident/incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans • Liaising with external regulators, auditors, and stakeholders on compliance matters • Developing and delivering training programs to managers, supervisors, and employees to raise awareness and competency • Reporting performance trends, incidents, and progressing to senior leadership • Identifying opportunities for improvements and lead initiatives to reduce risks and enhance workplace safety Key competencies include: • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety management role within a relevant sector, such as manufacturing and production, process engineering, construction • Professional health and safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5, or equivalent) • Membership of a recognized professional body such as IOSH or IIRSM • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices • Proven ability to lead change and foster a positive safety culture with excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff at all levels This is an excellent opportunity to join a market leader with a boutique, ‘family’ feel, creating a positive culture.
