From Swimming lessons, to walking football and everything in-between we are driven to provide fun and welcoming sessions to support the whole community to be active, both within our leisure centres and in the local community.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to effectively deliver and promote our Exercise Referral Scheme. This is exciting new role with the opportunity to completely redevelop and manage the scheme at the Leisure Centre. So that the scheme can be monitored and evaluated effectively you will be working closely with the Fitness Manager to ensure of correct delivery, administration and promotion of the scheme.
Working as an Exercise Referral Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for the promotion and recruitment into the scheme, centered on meeting population needs, promoting positive behaviour change and supporting residents to lead a healthy & active lifestyle. You will be able to build and manage key relationships and cross-sector partnerships across Freedom Leisure, public health and community, voluntary and third sector organisations
Hours: 4 hours per week
*This is a temporary contract of up to 12 months.
Requirements
1. A degree or equivalent and relevant management experience in physical activity, health, or a relevant discipline
2. A Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification
3. Emergency First Aid at Work (Desirable)
4. Demonstrable experience of coordinating, developing and delivering successful health related programmes and projects both directly, and in collaboration and partnership with other agencies and partners across a broad range of sectors
5. Experience of managing, supervising and supporting coaches, instructors and volunteers to delivery a quality-assured service/ project
6. Experience of monitoring and evaluating physical activity or health projects to communicate impact to internal and external stakeholders; whilst informing service development
7. In-depth knowledge and understanding of health improvement: promoting positive behaviour change, tackling barriers to participation and addressing health inequalities
8. Knowledge of Health Referral pathways and the processes and procedures required to support best practice
9. Ability to plan and prioritise work – working under pressure to tight deadlines, organised and with a self-managing approach to work
10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
11. Experience of using Microsoft Office
12. Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels
