Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Laboratory Setting Job Description The job: As the Service Manager for the Lab Equipment Service Team in the UK South, coordinate Field Service Engineers to meet service targets and manage related product activities. Work with various teams and regions to achieve targets and communicate new opportunities. This is a remote position strategically situated within the Cambridge, Oxford, or Greater London vicinities. It will require frequent travel on a weekly basis throughout the UK South region (approximately 25% annually; around 3 days on average per month). Our Organisation This role is in our Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) department, offering coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our tailored services and top service experts can effectively address customer needs. We provide solutions for single instrument service or comprehensive lab support. What will you do? Supervise a group of Field Service Engineers in the Southern UK territory, instructing, supporting, and motivating them to accomplish their goals and targets Build strategic and operational plans, budgets and programmes consistent with the overall IES strategy in order to achieve company goals and increase account retention & expansion Actively participate and support contract sales process and key revenue streams Travel to various locations to build relationships, engage with key customer contacts, handle complaints, and manage important accounts. Act as key "go to" person in your team and region for strategy, process and performance Lead and drive Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives and ensure vibrant pipeline of PPI ideas from your team Who we are looking for: University Degree or equivalent experience. An experienced Field Service or Field Service leader, with knowledge of Laboratory Equipment Robust history in defining and assessing important metrics, analyzing data, and managing resources. Strong leadership and management skills; prior experience managing a team in a multi-cultural environment an advantage Experience of business improvement planning Highly organized, with the ability to balance multiple tasks with different priorities Self-motivated, with strong communication, inter-personal, and negotiating skills, and with ability to work across multiple levels, functions and regions Valid Driving Licence Proficient in English (verbal & written). Second European language would be beneficial Ready and capable to engage in frequent travel (approximately 3 days per month), which may involve overnight accommodations. Occasional trips to the US might also be necessary.
