About the Role
The role is for a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHO) based at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford. It offers a hybrid working model, a permanent contract, 36 working hours per week, and a salary range of £47,181 – £50,269 per annum.
Responsibilities
* Conduct programmed and reactive inspections of food premises to ensure compliance with food safety legislation.
* Deliver health and safety interventions across commercial and public settings.
* Investigate and manage cases of infectious disease, outbreaks, and public health risks.
* Lead in areas of work and provide mentoring support to junior team members.
* Maintain accurate records of activities in an electronic database.
* Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with residents, businesses, and colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
* Fully qualified Environmental Health Officer with relevant registration.
* Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and infectious disease control.
* Experience reviewing risk assessments and auditing premises for compliance.
* Experience in enforcement and the full range of interventions under the Food Law Code of Practice.
* Ability to manage workload independently and work as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills and customer‑care orientation.
* Experience dealing with confidential data.
* Ideal candidates have experience in all aforementioned fields.
