Job Summary Things She Never Said is a new play that brings the heroines of the Special Operations Executive (SOE) into the light. It follows a network of extraordinary women who traded ordinary lives for sabotage missions, coded messages and assignments behind enemy lines. The production is now entering a two‑week R&D phase to incorporate music, live song, and dynamic multi‑rolling. We are seeking a collaborative movement director to help unlock the physical possibilities of the production, working closely with the creative team and actor‑musicians throughout the process.
Project Information Locations: Forest Forge Theatre Company & Forest Arts Centre, New Forest Hampshire.
Commitment: 15‑17 July & 22‑24 July (10‑6 pm).
Fee: £1,400 (£200 a day × 6 days in rehearsal and 1 day prep).
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director and Musical Director to begin exploring the staging and physical language of the piece.
Explore the physical possibilities for the show and support the storytelling physically, including potential transitions between moments.
Staging the ensemble safely and dynamically while they actively sing, learn music, and play instruments.
Lead and facilitate exercises that help explore, test, and develop the play’s physical world and language.
Requirements
Experience as a movement director in new writing, devised theatre and/or ensemble‑led pieces.
Worked with Actor‑Musicians and have a keen interest in how movement can support this style of storytelling.
Comfortable improvising and collaborating in a fast‑paced R&D environment, testing and trying new ideas.
