For our Research division in London we are looking to hire a:Equity Research Analyst, ChemicalsWho are we looking for? Berenberg’s top-10-Extel-ranked chemicals team is searching for a VP candidate (4-6 years’ plus experience) to cover European and US stocks, and assist the team head. The successful applicant will have:
1. High productivity: quick, accurate thinking and writing skills.
2. The ability to work autonomously and enter a flow state without falling prey to distractions.
3. Experience in financial modelling and valuation in Excel – an appreciation of what drives earnings up-grade and downgrade cycles, and how geopolitics moves shares.
4. Helpful but not essential: experience in materials/industrials.
5. Helpful but not essential: European or Chinese language skills.
6. Helpful but not essential: Python or other programming skills
What will you do? Become the go-top person for investors in your stocks. Tasks include:
7. Conduct research on companies within the chemicals sector. Judge whether stocks are correctly valued and write timely reports explaining your reasoning.
8. Review company accounts/reports, analyse trends and news within the industry.
9. Attend company presentations, conferences, events, and meetings with company management.
10. Other tasks associated with the research function: creating/updating databases, marketing presenta-tion etc.
