Join to apply for the MLD Teacher role at Targeted Provision. Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in East Sussex. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN / SEND, as well as other needs such as SEMH. We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists.
This role is suitable for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who are eager to work 1:1 with children and young people with a variety of learning needs, in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other needs referred to Targeted Provision
* Support is provided to young people referred by local authorities and schools, focusing on educational and social-emotional development
* Deliver flexible, holistic, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
Tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each tutoring/mentoring session
* Provide engaging sessions that meet the needs and advance the learner’s progress
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress
Requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and other needs
* Experience and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with right to work in the UK, including for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement that you promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
Employment status
* This position involves engaging with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise
* You will work through a contract for service and be paid via PAYE
* We do not offer any set amount of work nor expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position

Individuals with highly relevant teaching experience may have previously held roles such as SENCo, SLD/MLD Teacher, Autism/ADHD Support Teacher, Intervention Specialist, Ex-Teacher, Learning Support Assistant, Educational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist, Educational Psychologist, Inclusion Coordinator, etc.
