Salary: PAYE: £22.65 per hour | Umbrella: £29.03 per hour
Are you a qualified Solicitor seeking a rewarding temporary opportunity within local government?
Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a skilled and motivated Solicitor (Grade 9) to join the Legal Team in Ebbw Vale for a 12-week assignment, providing essential cover within a busy and supportive environment.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery of legal services, with a focus on regulatory prosecutions and advice, primarily in the Magistrates’ Court, and to provide expert support to Planning and Licensing Committees.
What You’ll Do:
1. Conduct and manage regulatory prosecutions and provide clear legal advice in connection with such cases.
2. Advise and support Planning and Licensing Committees, ensuring legal compliance and robust decision-making.
3. Prepare and present cases before the Magistrates’ Court and other relevant legal forums.
4. Draft and review legal documents, reports, and correspondence to a high professional standard.
5. Liaise with internal departments, external agencies, and partner organisations as required.
6. (Desirable) Provide legal support to Adult Social Services where appropriate.
What We’re Looking For:
7. A qualified Solicitor with a current practising certificate (England and Wales).
8. Experience in regulatory law, local government, or public sector legal services.
9. Knowledge of planning, licensing, and prosecution procedures.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong advocacy experience.
11. Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise competing deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
12. Strong professional ethics and commitment to public service values.
