Moving and Handling and Posture Care Trainer Practitioner

Northumberland County Council Adult Social Care are looking for an experienced therapist or nurse who has knowledge,experienceand an interest in moving and handling and posture care.
The post is a Countywide post and will be supporting and training Occupational Therapists and Therapy support staff from Occupational Therapy services with complex moving and handling and posture carecases.
As part of Northumberland Adult Social Care, we work with adults (18+) who have a functional deficit caused by aging, physical disability, mental health or learning disability.The interventions and advice needed are therefore wide ranging.
Adult social carehasoffices across the County. Due to the position being a Countywide post the base for the post holder will bedeterminedon appointment.
The post is full time, permanent, and the salary is Northumberland County Council Band 8 £39,862 - £44,075
Main duties of the job
We need someone who can:
* Provide support to Northumberland County Council (NCC) therapy services with the provision of a specialised service in moving and handling and posture care.
* Be able to undertakehighly complexassessments in any place client spends time; toidentifyneeds, plan, implement and evaluate interventions taking into consideration current legislation to reduce the risk of any musculoskeletal disorders.
* Be a highly skilled resource to NCC therapy staff and members of a clients MDT.
* Ability to develop and deliver a range of specialist training programmes on the scope of moving and handling and posture care.
* Lead on competency-based specialist training,adviceand supportregardingmoving and handling and posture care.
* Observe and evaluate the competency of all staff while completing specialist training programmes in the training environment and in the community when supporting with individual client cases to ensureappropriate useof informationprovided.
