DevOps Engineer Hybrid - 2-3 days a week from Solihull with occasional travel to Croydon based on business Permanent or Contract SC and NPPV3 cleared Spinwell is recruiting for a DevOps Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the private sector. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE DEVOPS ENGINEER Develop high quality and maintainable code with automation first approach. Provide in-depth insight into DevOps issues and strong technical experience. Maintain an open-minded attitude and ability to rapidly adapt and learn in line with DevOps culture. Facilitate workshops, meetings with a variety of stakeholders, show and tell, and drive outcomes. Manage technology change, issues, and escalations (external and internal), taking responsibility by owning them until they are mitigated or resolved. Lead by example, acting as a servant-leader, demonstrating the right behaviours, dealing with conflict, and helping establish a team culture that allows for constructive criticism. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE DEVOPS ENGINEER 10 years of experience with a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, ECS, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, SSM, HSM) to develop and maintain an AWS-based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security. Expertise in AWS networking using VPC, NACLs, route53, transit gateways and VIFs. Expertise in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant. Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools. Strong scripting skills (e.g. Shell, Python, PowerShell) and automation skills. Experience in configuring Open LDAP Thorough knowledge of Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline using Groovy script. Experience with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI. Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Alert Manager, Prometheus, and Node exporter). Experience in deploying and configuring Postfix SMTP and Dovecot IMAP servers. Experience configuring mail clients like Thunderbird and outlook office 365. Experience working with implementing COTS products. Experience in configuring and maintain Nginx and squid proxy with mTLS. Ability to analyse and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues. Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management. Experience in automating and codifying the installation of software packages. Nessus security scanning and antivirus experience with ClamAV and MS defender.
