We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full time Finance Analyst to join Southampton City Council (SCC) in the Finance Business Partnering team.
About The Team
Our finance team is reshaping how financial support is delivered across the organisation and region, and we are looking for a Finance Analyst to play a key role in that journey. As a Finance Analyst you will provide financial support to the Executive Directors and management teams for Enabling Services and Strategy & Chief Executive, enabling the services within these directorates to deliver their visions and priorities. Finance Support at Southampton City Council is delivered through a business partnering approach, supporting effective budget management, financial accountability and informed decision‑making.
About The Role
* Support the delivery of financial services, working with a portfolio of service colleagues to help them manage their budgets
* Work with service colleagues to prepare and monitor budgets
* Provide detailed financial analysis that informs decision making
* Communicate complex financial information to non‑financial managers
* Maintain the accuracy of financial information within the council’s finance system
About You
* AAT qualified or with an equivalent professional UK recognised finance qualification
* Experience of working in a finance environment
* A high standard of analytical skills with the ability to undertake a range of financial and business modelling tasks
* Good IT literacy
* Excellent people and teamworking skills

Salary: The salary band for this role is £41,771 - £46,141 per annum. The starting salary is £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands.
