We are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team in Preston.
About the Role
This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the firm by supporting a wide range of financial processes linked to both client work and internal operations. You’ll be joining a collaborative, friendly team where accuracy, communication, and a proactive approach are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring incoming monies, updating internal spreadsheets, and notifying fee earners to ensure timely allocation to client files
* Administration and reconciliation of petty cash
* Processing client and office accounting transactions from the posting queue
* Acting as second authoriser for bank payments
* Preparing manual cheques
* Managing batch imports for client disbursements and postings
* Monitoring the accounts inbox and resolving queries as they arise
Essential Experience
* Hands‑on experience of financial processes
* Confident use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
Desirable Experience
* Experience working within the legal sector
Qualifications & Technical Skills
* Experience using fully integrated financial systems
* Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
