A unique opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic apprentice to join East Suffolk Council as a Planning Information Support Apprentice in our Planning and Building Control service area. This apprenticeship opportunity could be your ideal first step on the career ladder in the Planning or Building Control field. Your role You will learn how to maintain accurate land and property records on both GIS and on database systems. You will also be trained to provide support and advice to end users and colleagues within the Council regarding the use of land and property systems. Excellent numeracy, ICT and written skills will be essential to this role, as well as developing a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail. You will need You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, strong IT skills and ideally four GCSEs at grade C or grade 4–9 (or equivalent). Candidates without GCSE Maths and/or English will have the opportunity to gain these qualifications during the apprenticeship. No previous experience is required, as full training will be provided, however a passion to be a positive and professional ambassador for the council and provide the best experience for our customers is a must. You will ideally show self-motivation, and a willingness to learn in this profession. Apprenticeship open evening!
