Cover People are looking for enthusiastic and confident Sports Coaches to work across secondary schools in Bury on a day-to-day and short-term supply basis. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and deliver engaging sports coaching sessions tailored to diverse groups including different ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
Motivate athletes to achieve their personal best while promoting values of fairness, respect, and teamwork.
Monitor and assess participant progress, providing constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
Collaborate with school staff, parents, and other stakeholders to support athlete development and welfare.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that fosters diversity and equal opportunity.
Adapt coaching methods to meet individual needs and comply with health and safety standards.
Contribute to the broader sports program by helping to organize events, competitions, and community outreach initiatives.
Provide classroom support as a Teaching Assistant (TA) when required, supporting students? learning and wellbeing.
Qualifications
Experience or strong interest in sports coaching, physical education, or sports science.
Qualification in PE, Sports Coaching, or related fields is preferred but not essential; unqualified candidates with relevant experience or enthusiasm are welcome.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse participants.
Demonstrated commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in sports and education settings.
Ability to inspire and motivate athletes, maintaining high standards of discipline and sportsmanship.
Flexibility to work across different locations such as Bury and willingness to engage with both male and female participants.
Basic first aid knowledge or willingness to obtain certification.
Willingness and ability to support both PE coaching and classroom learning environments.
