Job Description
Shift patterns will consist of mornings 07:00-14:15 and/or evenings 16:00-22:00. You will be required to work alternate weekends.
1. Provide essential personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
2. Manage medication administration and assist with meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements
3. Maintain a hygienic and safe living environment, offering professional companionship and emotional support
4. Assist with mobility and transfers, utilising appropriate equipment and following safety protocols
5. Monitor and report changes in service users' health or wellbeing to the care coordinator
6. Maintain accurate records of care provided and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members
7. Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations and organisational policies
8. Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities
9. Work alternate weekends and operate across Wigan and surrounding areas as required.
Qualifications
10. Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
11. Excellent time management and organisational abilities
12. Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
14. Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility
15. First Aid certification is advantageous
16. Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults
17. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
18. Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required
19. Compassionate and patient demeanour
20. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
21. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
22. Basic IT skills for accurate record-keeping
23. Enthusiasm for making a positive difference in people's lives
