Part-Time Sales Ledger & Payroll Clerk
Salary: £12.64 per hour
Hours: 12 hours per week initially (09:00- 14:00) increasing to 21 hours/week 09:00- 17:30 early finish on a Friday(Wed–Fri)
Employment Type: Part-Time

A reputable, well-established local business is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Sales Ledger & Payroll Clerk to support its busy accounts and payroll team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is looking for flexibility in their schedule.

About the Role:

This varied role offers the chance to get involved in both sales ledger and payroll functions. The successful candidate will begin with a 12-hour working week progressing to 21 hours across 3 days (Wednesday to Friday). You’ll be joining a friendly and supportive team and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

* Verify and input sales invoices using Sage Accounting Software

* Reconcile customer invoices and assist with month-end statement preparation

* Handle customer queries, process credit notes, and resolve discrepancies

* Liaise with clients to ensure accurate payment and reporting

* Allocate customer payments and generate reports on outstanding balances

* Process payroll using Moneysoft 123 (experience advantageous)

* Ensure accurate and timely payroll for all employees

* Apply knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) where applicable

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll and/or basic accounting

* Proficiency in SAGE, Microsoft Excel, Word, and email correspondence

* Experience with Moneysoft 123 Payroll and knowledge of CIS is highly desirable

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry

* Strong organizational and time-management abilities

* Legible handwriting and a professional telephone manner
