CarmichaelUK is recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer with a strong highways background to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on the HS2 project in Northamptonshire. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the UK’s largest infrastructure schemes, delivering high-quality civil engineering works to exacting standards. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and supervise construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and drawings Liaise with subcontractors, Works Managers, Foremen, Section Engineers, and Sub Agents Carry out basic setting out and as-built surveys Manage, monitor, and interpret contract design documents Place requisitions/material orders and request permits Perform quality control checks on subcontractor and self-delivered works Provide technical advice and resolve on-site issues Check and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings Requirements: HNC/Degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or equivalent Working towards (or holder of) ICE membership Proven experience in highways construction projects Proficient with AutoCAD, GPS, and total stations Strong understanding of UK building/construction regulations CSCS card holder Full UK driving licence
