Role Overview
Reporting to the Senior Merchandiser you will assist in the collation of relevant data and analysing information required for range building, trading, placing buys, budget and stock optimisation.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Range Management
* Using historical data (e.g best sellers, category performance) and buying direction- Support range planning by providing data-driven insights to guide product selection, depth, and timing.
* Assist in defining and maintaining size ratios and colour assortments that serve both customer demand and inventory efficiency.
* Work with Buying and the wider Merch team to build the Range Plan and all information needed for PO placing.
* Monitor in-season product performance to recommend rebuys, repeats, or exit strategies where necessary.
* Help prepare for range sign-off meetings by pulling sales data, visual layouts, and key performance metrics.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, and the Product/Buying team to ensure the range supports commercial and brand objectives.
Data Analysis & Performance Reporting
* Generate and maintain online sales reports (product and category level), margin analysis, sell‑through of new drops vs existing inventory.
* Use data to support pricing strategies, markdowns, promotions, and trading decisions aimed at driving sales, clearing stock, and maximising profit
* Provide insights into bestsellers, slow movers, and category performance.
* Input appropriate analysis attributes against products to enable reports to be generated.
* Maintain line cards on continuity styles to ensure stock availability and prevent missed sales opportunities due to stockouts.
* Supporting the team & the Senior Merchandiser with weekly, monthly and seasonal sales reporting for the business.
* Accurately update, monitor and maintain data sources to ensure information is updated for ad hoc and routine reporting purposes. Work with reports to improve efficiency of the department.
Skills & Experience Required
* 1‑3 years working in fashion retail merchandising, ideally already at Assistant Merch level.
* Advanced Excel Skills and Strong proficiency in reporting tools; ability to analyse data (sales trends, inventory performance) and turn insights into action.
* Attention to accuracy with an ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload
* Ability to interpret sales data and inventory metrics to inform merchandising decisions.
