The Opportunity
Join Holcim as a Mechanical Fitter, where you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure smooth and safe operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team, keeping our facilities running efficiently. If you're a skilled fitter with experience in welding, cutting, and fabricating, along with a proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills, this is the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned maintenance and repairs to ensure asset reliability and performance.
Respond quickly and effectively to unplanned repairs and plant breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution.
Develop and implement safe working methods for maintenance tasks.
Conduct daily plant inspections, completing documentation and reporting any issues promptly.
Maintain high housekeeping standards, ensuring clean, tidy, and hazard-free work areas.
Assist with training operatives to carry out basic maintenance tasks.
Monitor and record plant stoppages and breakdowns, ensuring accurate reporting.
Take responsibility for plant assets, materials, buildings, equipment, and stores.
Complete and adhere to all safety-related documentation during maintenance activities.
Communicate effectively with the site management team to address issues and share updates.
Who You Are
Youre an experienced and motivated Fitter with a solid background in mechanical maintenance, demonstrating a proactive approach to equipment upkeep and operational efficiency.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical maintenance.
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, plan and implement maintenance schedules, and respond effectively to breakdowns.
Strong understanding of safe working practices and commitment to following safety protocols.
Self-motivated, with strong communication and teamworking skills, and a results-driven approach.
Capable of using digital systems to document maintenance activities and track performance effectively.
