We are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent qualified Nursery Practitioner to join the team at our East Lothian nursery, located in the quiet coastal town of Musselburgh East Lothian. The nursery is set in a large spacious building, with well resourced playrooms, dining areas, and sleep rooms. Our building also has free flow access to attractive garden areas and a large staff room with kitchen facilities. The nursery is served by local buses and ample on street parking is available for staff travelling by car.
The successful candidates will be hardworking, conscientious, have good communication skills, be motivated, professional and passionate about working with and supporting our children and their families. You will be responsible for creating stimulating learning experiences allowing children to thrive in a caring and nurturing environment. Main responsibilities include planning, evaluating, observing and recording learning experiences for our children, attending to their daily care needs, and supporting and promoting positive professional relationships within your team and with all service users.
Preferred candidates will hold or be working towards a relevant childcare qualification at HNC level, SVQ level 3/SCQF level 7 or equivalent and have experience of working in a children's nursery, afterschool club or as a registered childminder. A sound knowledge of children's development and a working knowledge of relevant curricula and early years best practice is required.
This position is full time and permanent for 40 hours over four days from 7.30 am until 6 pm during Monday to Friday with a floating day off. Qualified applicants are currently paid £12.90 per hour, otherwise the rate of pay is £12.21 per hour for those aged 21 and over, and £10 an hour for those aged under 21.
