You will be asked to indicate which post(s) you would like to be considered for when you complete the application form.
Hours for these posts are variable on a shift pattern and to include some weekend working. Sleepover shifts are an essential element of this post and include a single payment from 23.00 until 06.00am. Postholder entitled to enhanced pay rate after 21.00 until 23.00 hours and from 06.00 until 07.00 hrs. Occasional waken nights may also be required due to the nature of the support provided at Hardgate.

To deliver high quality Day Services which meet the assessed needs of individual serviceusers, promoting independence and enhancing East Lothian’s role as a provider of learning disability day services, in accordance with the values and principles of the National Care Standards, and within the policies and procedures of the Council.

Relevant Qualifications
SSSC registration is an essential requirement of this role. If you are appointed and are not already a member of the relevant section of the SSSC Register, you will be required to apply for registration as soon as possible and this must be achieved within three months of your start date.
Essential for Qualified Post: HNC in Social Care or SVQ3 or equivalent and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
Essential for Unqualified Post: General standard of education e.g. SVQ Level 2/ Highers (including English) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through previous experience.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
