ROLE: Chemical Engineer
SALARY: GBP 40,000 - GBP 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE: Permanent
LOCATION: Hertfordshire
My client designs and manufactures specialist equipment for process industries. They are looking for a Chemical Engineer with a strong background in Design to join their team in Hertfordshire on a permanent basis.
Qualifications
* Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
* 2-4 years\' or more of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong Design skills with the ability to design new processes
* A background in Water / Chemical / O and G / Aerospace related industries would also be ideal
* Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, etc.
* Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication etc.
* Strong Project Management skills
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to take a leadership role and motivate others
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
* Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities Include
* Designing processes for equipment integration
* Solving problems and improving engineering processes
* Being involved in designing, implementing and overseeing project plans
* Updating 3D models and drawings
* Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
* Liaising with other departments to manage such projects
* Liaising with manufacturing providers
* Ensuring quality and H and S standards are met
* Design equipment layouts
* Maintaining technical documentation as required
* Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
