At British Gypsum we are looking for a Production Operative - Mineral Handling (Day shift) to work in our Mineral Handling team, helping to deliver the safe, efficient and accurate supply of gypsum rock, synthetic gypsum (DSG) and recycled plasterboard into our manufacturing process. It's a hands-on, varied position where no two days are the same, and where you'll be trusted to take ownership of your area, support team tasks and contribute to continuous improvement across site.

From our East Leake site, we manufacture high-performance building solutions used in homes, schools, hospitals and workplaces across the country. With a strong focus on sustainability, recycling and innovation, we play a key role in delivering light and sustainable construction solutions.
This is a day-shift role based on site at East Leake Works.
What we're looking for:
A 100% commitment to Health & Safety, with a safety-first mindset in everything you do.
Experience operating heavy mobile plant such as wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, telehandlers or forklift trucks (desirable but not essential if willing to train).
Strong basic IT skills, with confidence using Excel and a willingness to learn SAP and Power BI.
A proactive, reliable team player who takes ownership of their area and supports colleagues.
A positive, flexible attitude with the confidence to step up, lead small improvement activities and deputise when required.What you will be doing:
Safely operating heavy mobile plant to manage and supply raw materials including rock, powders and recycled plasterboard.
Accurately receipting deliveries and recording data in SAP and departmental spreadsheets within agreed timeframes.
Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the Mineral Handling area, including stockpiles, roads and equipment.
Supporting shift operatives by covering breaks and ensuring continuous material supply without disruption.
Identifying improvement opportunities, supporting small projects and escalating issues appropriately to maintain performance and safety standards.Are British Gypsum and Saint-Gobain inclusive employers?
