About the Job The Global Head of Data & Analytics will lead the IB’s enterprise-wide data strategy, building a high‑performing function that enables the organization to consistently generate strategic value from data. This role shapes how data is used to understand user behavior, guide investment decisions, and improve outcomes across the institution. As the organization's senior authority on data and analytics, you will modernize core data platforms, strengthen governance and standards, and embed a culture of evidence‑based decision‑making. You’ll drive the design and operation of a global data and analytics model that delivers trusted insights, empowers business units, and ensures consistency and quality across the IB. Operating as a key advisor to the Chief Digital Officer and senior leadership, you will influence strategic priorities, challenge assumptions through insight, and align stakeholders across a complex global organization. You will also lead a hybrid analytics model that combines centralized expertise with embedded analysts to meet both organizational and business‑specific needs. This is a critical leadership position with organization‑wide impact—shaping the IB’s digital transformation, long‑term strategy, and the way data informs decisions at every level. Responsibilities Lead the global data strategy, setting the vision, operating model, and governance needed to build a scalable, organisation ‑ wide data capability. Drive consistent, trusted insights by defining enterprise metrics, overseeing global dashboards, and ensuring high standards of data quality, integrity, and performance. Advance analytics maturity, setting expectations for advanced analytics and ensuring high ‑ quality, actionable insight generation that informs strategic and investment decisions. Champion data storytelling, establishing global standards for visualisation and ensuring insights are communicated clearly and effectively to senior leaders. Oversee data acquisition and integration, shaping scalable data pipelines and ensuring a connected, transparent, and reliable data landscape. Strengthen data infrastructure and governance, prioritising platforms, safeguarding data privacy and security, and enabling self ‑ service analytics across the organisation. Build trust in data, ensuring reliability, rapid issue resolution, and strong performance across pipelines, platforms, and analytical outputs. Provide strategic leadership, advising senior executives, shaping organisational priorities, and fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Develop global capability, leading talent strategy, developing future data leaders, and promoting digital and data literacy across the organisation. Represent the organisation externally, contributing to sector thought leadership in data and analytics. Own budget and value delivery, ensuring strong return on investment and long ‑ term value creation from data initiatives. Qualifications Experience Significant experience leading large-scale data and analytics transformation across complex global organizations. Strong senior leadership in data & analytics, able to turn complex and varied data sources into clear insights that guide executive decisions. Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple functions. Experienced in building, developing, and leading high-performing data and analytics teams. Knowledge Degree in a data ‑ related field; postgraduate study or equivalent experience preferred. Understanding of the global K–12 education landscape and international curricula (e.g., IB). Awareness of EdTech trends, digital platforms, and emerging technologies. Technical Skills Expertise in a broad range of data and analytics technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI) in global environments Strong skills in advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and machine learning. Deep knowledge of data governance, management, quality, security, and compliance. Strong understanding of software development practices and modern data platform architectures. Ability to generate meaningful insights on user behaviour, product performance, and operations. Leadership & Interpersonal Skills Excellent communicator with the ability to influence and challenge senior leaders. Strong judgment, empathy, and ability to balance competing priorities. Confident decision ‑ maker who champions data ‑ driven approaches and handles conflict constructively. Skilled strategic problem ‑ solver who can navigate ambiguity and deliver pragmatic solutions. Leadership style that builds trust, alignment, and sustainable outcomes. Clear commitment to using data and analytics to drive continuous improvement We offer an attractive range of benefits*.
