The role is a multidisciplined Manufacturing Engineering role covering technology development, internal make capability and external supply chain development for defence aerospace. To meet customer and business requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate & leadtime (SQCD).Implement Manufacturing Product Introduction activities for Electrical Commodities including Electric Machines, Energy Storage Systems and Power Electronics, including the design of the overall Method of Manufacture, Design for Manufacture/Assembly and PPAP Deliverables.Work cross-functionally as part of the extended Integrated Project Team (IPT), planning and co-ordinating Manufacturing Engineering activities to deliver the functional deliverables in line with accepted timescales.**What you will be doing:*** Product Safety - Ensure that manufacturing processes can achieve and sustain the design intent and responsible for mitigating against process deviation.* Develop Capability - Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and technologies, digital systems and/or methods of manufacture which are capable of meeting and continue to meet requirements for safety, quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time. Capture, analyse and use data to demonstrate and improve the current and future capability of manufacturing processes.* Build external relationships - Operate beneficial relationships with partners and suppliers to enable delivery of their objectives.* Quality - Operate a culture of zero defects within the organisation. Works with all functions to reduce risk and drive product Right First Time. Ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards including RRMS, SABRe and Export Contol and Intellectual Property requirements**Position qualifications:*** A good understanding of quality and Manufacturing Engineering principles, systems, and tools.* Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).* Experience in a Manufacturing or Manufacturing Engineering related discipline.* Knowledge of developing new manufacturing and assembly technology* Experience in New Product Introduction, preferably for an Electrical System or Sub System.* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.To work for Rolls-Royce you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
