Overview
Senior Mechanical Engineer – Embedded Team. You will be responsible for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities across a range of engineering projects which will form part of the submarine's new build and development programmes. You will be required to attend site in Derby 2‑3 days per week. Your missions: Develop effective solutions to engineering challenges, evaluate performance, reliability and safety of final products, alter and modify design to meet customer requirements, estimate budget and scope of project, manage risk and opportunity, and prepare product reports and documentation.

Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years' experience within the nuclear sector
* Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation (e.g., precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture
* Previous experience with technical document authoring, substantiation and presenting
* Understanding of nuclear health & safety and safety case requirements (SFR, engineering schedules, criticality prevention)
* Previous exposure to chemical plant, glovebox and associated processes (advantage), welding, NDT techniques
* Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
* Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
* BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field
* Must hold or be able to obtain a Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats
