About the role
We are currently seeking a Teacher of A Level Law and Sociology to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Subject Teaching & Engagement - Delivers high-quality lessons in Law or Sociology, inspiring students through engaging teaching that fosters curiosity and deepens understanding.
* Student Progress & Achievement - Provides timely assessments and feedback, tracks progress and supports students in meeting retention and success targets.
* Curriculum & Enrichment - Actively contributes to curriculum development and organises subject-related extracurricular activities such as trips, guest speakers, and events.
* College Participation - Supports wider Sixth Form activities including open evenings, exam invigilation, ID checks, and cross-campus meetings.
* Compliance & Development - Upholds safeguarding, EDI, and health and safety standards, while engaging in ongoing training and professional development.
About you
* Qualifications & Teaching Experience - Holds a relevant degree and teaching qualification, with GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent), and current experience teaching A Level students aged 16-18 in a Sixth Form or FE setting.
* Subject Knowledge & Pedagogy - Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge of subject content, syllabi, and teaching methods, with a proven track record of high performance and effective use of ILT to enhance learning.
* Professional Skills & Values - Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with a commitment to student success, educational values, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
* Teamwork & Adaptability - Works collaboratively, adapts to change, meets deadlines, and maintains high standards while promoting a positive image of the Sixth Form internally and externally.
* Safeguarding & Development - Committed to safeguarding, equality, and health and safety, with a flexible approach to work, willingness to travel across sites, and dedication to ongoing professional development.

About The Corby Sixth Form
The Corby Sixth Form offers a wide range of subjects and courses, including A-level subjects like maths, English Literature, sciences, humanities, and languages, as well as Diploma courses in areas like business, health & social care, and more. We aim to be an ambitious and inclusive learning environment that will help build vital study and life skills for our students next steps. We offer students a sixth form experience that's different to school and one that makes them stand out from the crowd.
We offer a varied range of subjects (our teachers are subject specialists, focused towards teaching 16-19 year olds, so you will benefit from their knowledge and experience). Our newly renovated, convenient town centre building, complete with the latest facilities, offers you an ideal place to study.
About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
