Lea Vale Medical Group is a large medical practice with 4 sites across Luton and Ampthill. We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated manager to join our Oliver Street branch to facilitate the smooth running of the surgery. We are looking for someone who can work full time or part time with a minimum of 22.5 hours per week.
This is a maternity cover role from 1st September 2025 to 31st August 2026. Depending on the practice's growth over the next year, there may be the possibility of making the role permanent.
Previous experience in general practice is essential, as this is a time-limited role.

Main duties of the job
The role has five key areas of responsibility:
1. Reception and admin staff management, including clerical staff rotas and management
2. Patient appointments and advice
3. Clinical rotas management
4. First-line patient communication, handling feedback and complaints
5. Premises management, ensuring all checks are in place

Job responsibilities
Reception and administration staff management
* Ensure staff share our vision and values, fostering development and progression plans
* Collaborate with senior staff to ensure safe, robust workflows
* Prepare administrative rotas for continuous coverage
Patient appointments and advice (navigation)
* Manage Klinik online consultation system, ensuring queries are appropriately directed
* Train staff on system use
Clinical rotas
* Ensure clinical rotas are on the system 6 weeks in advance
* Maintain practice absence software accuracy
* Support staff with patient complaints, educating on practice systems
* Manage the patient participation group

Salary: Depending on experience, equivalent to Band 5 or 6 – AFC.
